Charlotte Clark
DIRECTOR
I created the Happy Human Project to be everything that I needed as a child. Growing up as a young carer to my brother meant that I learned to put other’s needs before my own, and this made growing up very difficult.
I believe that children deserve to be taught these valuable life skills to know how to take care of themselves, to believe in themselves and to know when to ask for help. If we can empower them with this knowledge, I think the world will be a much better, happier and more resilient place.
You’ll find me teaching at Skyswood, How Wood, Hammond Academy & St Peters

Joanne Kelly
COACH
I am so excited to be joining the Happy Human Project and become part of the very valuable work they already do. I was drawn to the project as a parent of a brilliant but very often overwhelmed neurodiverse 9 year old, who has already benefitted from this programme in her school.
I am passionate about supporting young people to be the best version of themselves by equipping them with the many tools they will need to live happy and successful lives. The Happy Human Project does that at a very early age and I look forward to the privilege of being able to increase their work across schools in Hertfordshire to reach more children.
You’ll find me at Camp, Bernard’s Heath and Bridgewater schools

Sarah Langridge
COACH
I’m really excited about joining The Happy Human Project team and feel lucky to be able to work with kids in such an important area.
I firmly believe helping our young people to understand their mind and empowering them to manage their emotions is so important to give them the skills to navigate this complex world.
As well as spending time with family and friends, I love spending time outside, especially if I get the opportunity to visit the beach! I can be found outside in pretty much all weathers, when my kids allow!
You’ll find me at Bridgewater and South Hill school

Debbie Sheringham
COACH
I'm a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, with a background in NHS CAMHS, and I’ve had the privilege of working with children and adults living with various mental health issues. As a parent of two teenagers, I also understand some of the unique challenges children face today.
I wanted to work for the Happy Human Project because I share many of the same values, for example: the importance of understanding how emotions can show up in our bodies; and a love for using play to nurture emotional intelligence.
When I’m not working I like to sing, walk my dog, practice karate with my family and of course, dance!
You’ll find me at Edwinstree Middle School

Lucy Ryder
COACH
I am so excited and honoured to be jumping on board with the Happy Human Project! In my experience as a primary school teacher, I found myself increasingly looking for support in helping children manage the overwhelming emotions they were facing and becoming independent in using strategies that helped them to be happy and on the path to their full potential.
The Happy Human Project provides exactly this and teaches the value of good mental health from the earliest of ages.
As a mum of two young ladies both at the start of their schooling adventure, I feel so privileged to be a part of a team that is coming alongside some of our young people to help them recognise their worth, value and potential.

Jeni Hunt
COACH
I was drawn to the Happy Human Project after seeing the sessions in action in school and the impact on the children I worked with. In my experience as a primary school teacher, I could see every day the need for this type of support and I’m thrilled to be joining the team to bring this to more children across Hertfordshire.I am passionate about supporting children to become the most confident and happy version of themselves. The Happy Human Project does exactly this by equipping children with the skills and knowledge they need to support themselves through the inevitable ups and downs of life as well as when to ask for help.
Our Values
-
Learn
Taking care of our mental health is a skill that can be learned. Like physical health, the state of your mental health often determines the quality of your life. A huge part of what we do is providing children and young people with the space and time to learn how to take better care of their mental wellbeing.
-

Laugh & Play
Scientific studies have proven
that playfulness, laughter and nonsense make us feel good, more confident and more compassionate towards others. Through our Laughter workshops and courses, we help people of all ages access their inner joy and take life a little less seriously. -

Wellbeing
Relaxation gives us time to ourselves to reflect, rest and re-fuel. If we aren't making time for our own wellbeing, there's no way we can show up for others when they need it. We believe that taking time out is essential if we want to truly make a difference. Our work aims to give young people the time and space to learn to unwind, switch off and take care of number one.
-

Community
There are so many benefits to feeling part of a community and my work aims to bring people together, decreasing social isolation and helping people of all ages to form new friendships. Feeling like we matter and that what we do matters motivates us to interact with our community, form new relationships, help others and take better care of ourselves.
